The physical activity component however, has the most variability and is influenced by the fitt principle (frequency, intensity, time, and type). These principles can be used to make recommendations to populations. Intensities of movement are defined by mets: sedentary: 0-1. 5, light pa: 1. 5-3, moderate pa: 3-6. 5, vigorous pa: 6-7. The movement behavior intensity continuum consists of sleep duration, sedentary time, physical activity, and are three co-dependent behaviors that fall on the movement intensity continuum. There exist several guidelines for many populations and comprise of pa guidelines and 24-hour movement behavior guidelines.
