Minimize transporting it by making it locally available. Not seasonal availability (like bananas year round) And if possible, no particulates - so that everything is water soluble. Available: assured supply, constant quality, not seasonal, can be stored without deteriorating. Local: transport from source to fermenter can cost alot. Dry distiller grains, potato waste, slaughterhouse waste. Negative value - companies will need to transport the byproducts away, will cost money, so if you want to use it, they would rather giving it to you for free integration of bioindustries. Making product chains using crops, etc. for every waste stream that comes out.
