October 15th - tourism policy and planning - structure, content, and process: Types of policies: strategic overview - sets up overall direction of an organization, program policy - sets targets and employee resources to get specific results, operational policy - determines how an organization is operated. Tourism is entertainment that is to be bought and sold: vision - functional and inspirational portrait of where the place wants to be in a timeline - from values. Development process: definitional phase, analytical phase - how are we gonna get there, operational phase - putting them into action, implementation phase - seeing how we did.
