Nephron strucutre and function: glomerulis, filters blood, reabsorption of filtered substances, secretion of others, tubular system several sections, capillary beds blood supply made of 3 capillary beds. )nside bowman"s capsule: preotein free fluid filtered and accumulate in bowman"s space, glomerular capillaries and enters first tubule (proximal tubulus, made of many parallel capillaries. Glomerular filtration: makes protein free filtrate of plasma, has small solutes (crystalloid, complex network of capillaries and specialized structures made to keep cells and medium/high molecular weight proteins, gfr- glomerular filtration rate important index of renal function. Gfr glomerular filtration rate: main determinants for gfr, permeability of filtration barrier, higher permeability = higher filtration rate, surface are avlaiable for filtration, higher surface area = higher filtration. Tubular reabsorption: a lot of water leaves but 99% if taken back, same with glucose (100%, urea is waste but we reabsorb it, urea attracts water so when in blood it can increase water in blood.
