BIOM 3000 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Anterior Choroidal Artery, Anterior Communicating Artery, Anterior Cerebral Artery
Document Summary
From last class : dura mater contains the venous sinuses that drain the brain, superior sagittal sinus, left & right transverse sinuses, straight sinus. Ventricular system embryology ventricular system > central canal = continious with eachother. ** border the lateral ventricles: caudate nucleus - lateral/outer walls thalamus - oor corpus callosum - roof. Lateral ventricles (2) largest component of ventricles - holds most of csf. 5 parts (frontal, occipital & temporal horns, body & atrium) found in temporal lobe body - frontal and parietal lobes lies anterior to the thalamus. Interventricular foramen from lateral ventricles > csf moves through interventicular foramen to 3rd ventricle connects different parts in the frontal lobe in occipital lobe. Third ventricle produces the walls of the ventricle. Boarded by thalamus & hypothalamus makes up the oor of the third ventricle. Aqueduct (of sylvius) connects third ventricle to the fourth. Communication with subarachnoid space via 3 apertures (recess)
