Heredity: argues that the ultimate explanation of an individuals personality of the molecular structure of genes. Environment: the culture in which we are raised, early conditioning, norms among family friends and social groups all in uence our personality, our environment shapes our personalities and creates consistencies in our behavioural tendencies. Situation: some situations facilitate the expression of our personalities more than others. Research has demonstrated that although personality is a great contributing factor to how people will behave, situational in uences will have a large impact. In situations where rules or norms are very strong i. e. red light, personality will have little impact on how someone behaves. In weak situations i. e yellow light, personality is a strong predictor. There are ve major personality dimensions narrowed down from all the personality adjectives - these are called the big five (in textbook) In an organizational setting there is a lot being constantly learned.
