Nutr*3070 lecture #9: integrative model of behavioral prediction (fishbein) Where do attitude, norms, and pbc come from: behavioral beliefs and outcome evaluations, normative beliefs (injunctive and descriptive) and motivation to comply, control beliefs and perceived power. Measures: multiple one by the other to get your score (i. e. , outcome expectation x expectancy, gives you attitude score. Which would disapprove: parents, physician, grandma would approve, lazy friends, doctor if you are unwell or working out too hard. Which are least likely: friends, dad most likely, siblings, grandparents least likely. Control beliefs and perceived power: pbc is based on these, control beliefs: beliefs that certain circumstances will be present when doing the behavior, perceived power: perception that those circumstances will make behavior performance easy or difficult. Which would make it difficult or prevent it: easy: nice weather, having a reminder, close gym, well-rested, enough time, people to go with, difficult: opposites, illness, midterms, work, etc.
