Unitary systems: unitary: concentration of political authority and powers within one central government which is solely responsible for both domestic and foreign activities. Strong central government; other levels may exist, but are under the jurisdiction of the central government: most common government system, centralize to overcome opposition; increase efficiency and effectiveness. Simple and harmonized governance: central gouvernement does not carry out every task related to government, delegation: transfer of certain power from the national government to the subnational government for a limited time period.
