Evoked culture: consider culture by focusing on phenomena that are triggered in different ways by different environments. 2 key parts: the availability of foods. Are certain values more emphasized than others: universal underlying mechanism, environmental differences in how mechanism is activated. Evoke cooperation sharing vs. being selfish for example ones willingness to share resources. This likely varies depending on where people live: example: food supply, this evokes difference responses in people. Over time if this becomes stable it becomes part of their personality: cultural differences in degree to which groups share, high variance in food = more (food) sharing.
