Due process: all people should have rights those rights should be protected even the accused, try and enhance the rights of accused, to protect them from power of state, and to prevent wrongful convictions. Canada: both crime control and due process, our constitution in charter of rights and freedoms have our rights from the powers of state in there. Per everyone 100000 people, there are 194 cops. Police work: proactive, discover crime on their own from doing their job, reactive, respond to reports form the public, 80% of police work. Order maintenance: most time consuming, routine activities dealing with basic things, dealing with issues of right and wrong, 80% of poli(cid:272)e"s ti(cid:373)e. Service: traffic duty, crowd control, work with local organizations, to help look for missing persons to help with neighborhood bringing in neighborhood watch.
