People expect to go to trial because of media. Only about 10% of cases go to trial. No surprises everyone is aware of the evidence that is going to be used up to lawyers. Case load: lawyer try plea bargain ahead of time to redu(cid:272)e (cid:272)ase load so they do(cid:374)"t ha(cid:448)e to go to trial because of the work load. Summary offences: criminal offences will start and be taken care of in provincial court, cases considered routine cases, sentences are less feared fine up to 5000$ or 6 months in provincial prison, not fingerprinted for summary conviction. In canada rule is you can only choose a jury if punishment will be 5 more years in prison less than 5 years for results in only judge. Court data is done by half year. Starts april first 2013 finishes march 31 2014. Corrections follows the same reference years that courts do.
