Prenatal development: gestation occurs over 265 days or 38 weeks. The germinal stage: begins with conception and ends with implantation 7th 9th day, 60-70 mass cell called a blastocyst. Embryonic disc will for embryo: outer layer. Trophoblast will divide into 2 structures: amniotic sac. The embryonic stage body structures start to develop: 2 weeks to 2 months, amniotic sac, amniotic fluid, chorion, develops into the placenta, placenta, umbilical cord, delivers nutrients and oxygen and takes away waste. Organogenesis: ectoderm (outer layer, nervous system and skin, mesoderm (middle layer, muscles, skeleton, circulatory system, endoderm (inner layer, digestive system, lungs, urinary tract, glands, development of nervous system is followed by internal structures and then external structures. The fetal stage: 2 months to birth, organs, muscles and nervous system organizes and become connected, 2nd trimester movements can be felt by mother, vernix, white substance covering the baby to protect them from chaffing and environment.
