People need to know exactly how to carry out a task and the outcome it will bring: fostering relatedness: involvement. People feel related or connected to others through involvement. Connecions between self-determinaion theory and other theories in personality: autonomy and locus of causality. Describes the connecions between behaviour and outcomes internal locus of control. Believe they can inluence what can happen to them through their own eforts, behaviors or characterisics. Those that believe that what happened to them is due to change, luck, fate or other people. The extent to which people feel free to choose their own behaviors or follow their own interests locus of causality.
