Sexual double standards primarily revolve around the idea that certain societies or groups have values and beliefs regarding hooking up. Those of sorority residence with a female bias will have certain negative attitudes towards men. Male varsity athletes like the fraternity men will have double standards of their own based on the same topic at hand. All in all, the sexual double standard essentially varies depending on the person judging. Ho(cid:449)e(cid:448)er, o(cid:448)er the (cid:455)ears studies do go to show that double standards are predominantly mutual amongst both males and females towards each other (feldman, turner, and araujo, 1999). There was significant contradiction towards the idea of sexual double standard amongst genders but as a conclusive thought, the ultimate evaluation of sexual behaviours and the outlook on it lies with that gender judging the issue. Paul and hayes state that by the time of graduation, a majority of the college students would have experienced at least one hookup.
