Document Summary

When the solar system was forming, the 4 largest planets were orbiting around the sun with a very large cloud of asteroids, meteorites, etc on the outside. As the planets moved around, they would disturb the asteroid cloud that was surrounding the whole of the solar system, causing all the matter to get shot towards the center or to the outside. Planet interactions with the asteroids caused shifting of the orbits. This goes on and leads to a force between jupiter and saturn causing a huge bombardment of material 3,800 4,100 mya. One of the consequences is the force between saturn and jupiter kicks neptune to the outer ring of the orbiting planets. Saturn become the scavengers protecting the inner planets from anything coming in. Habitable zone (goldilocks): since water is essential, the fact that it can exist in a solid, liquid, and gaseous state is key to this planet.
