Cilia very numerous, lagella maybe one or two. Using it to atract nutrients(cilia) moving over and above the cell. Move the cell itself in the envir. Type of movement: cilia mov at the base plasma membrane, lagella(s wave) like a propeller. Both emerge to form basal bodies(microtubules), built by centrioles. Each doblet is held together by cross linkers and they move on membranepodcast. What would happen is microtubues were not linked. Each cell has a centrosome, made up of 2 centriols, at a right angle with respect to each other (l-shape) Centriols are made up of 9 microtubule triplets, arranged in a ring structure (no central triplet) Will serve as anchor to cilia and lagellum. Gap juncion: made of 6 protein sub units. Change how they are orientaion in cell which makes it change shape. Based on a concentraion for opening and closing for communicaion. Alp- how to get a cell to grow to reach a target.
