Rflps (restriction fragment length polymorphisms: inherited pattern of restriction sites follows mendelian rules, how to detect rflps, 1. Pcr analysis: primers on either side of the polymorphic site, pcr product will be between the primers. Use a restriction enzyme and run pcr products on a gel, if individual is heterozygous, you will see 3 bands: 1 allele won"t have the restriction site (1 band) and the other one will (2 bands).
