Although we do not directly experience war, we still experience it even more intensely than countries that experienced it on the home front. We need to think about the relationship between society and politics. War has become mediated it comes to us through media. We only know what happens in war because of the media. We can experience a war that is taking place halfway around the world. We do not experience it directly, but we experience it in a different way. Ex: just because we have not met stephen harper, does not mean that we have not experienced his politics. We need to think deeper about experiences and what they mean. Ex: the selfie look at my experience, here i am! They are trying to represent their experience to the rest of the world. We don"t directly know, but we have experienced it through the media.
