This is a coming of age that has a scrutiny of what is a hero. Power: is capacity, (the capacity to do something), ged who seems inherently gifted with magic (this is his power). But when someone focuses on one speciic area, they may in fact be weak in another, because they spend so much time focusing on one thing they do not hone in on other skills. Ged often time allows his emotions to get the better of him; therefore, he looses control over himself. But ged never had any moral guidance as a young boy, but his ability to survive is his screw you attitude . Identity: identity is important in a coming of age story when you are trying to igure out who you are.
