Dee does not know the full significance of the quilt. Dee wants to diminish the value of the quilt. Dee is used to getting what she wants. Maggie is used to being in dee"s shadow. Maggie actually appreciates every piece of the quilt. Dee only wants things when they are in style . Maggie seems to be more generous spirited than dee.
