We look at: pros, cons, analysis: know your purpose and goal, know and analyze your audience (what do they care about, their emotions, brainstorm ideas. Writing key ideas: structure (hooking reader, advance/support position, state the desired coa, support (reasons examples names numbers senses, unity, coherence, opening and closings (hook the reader, leave the reader thinking, encourage) Active: subject performs the action: e. g, my son ate the cake. Passive: subject receives the action: e. g, the cake was eaten by my son. e. g, i hate snow on mondays. (good) Snow is hated on mondays. (bad) e. g, bribes were taken and crimes ignored. (passive) But you should use passive voice when emphasizing the person receiving the action, when you don"t know who did the action or you want to avoid confrontation. e. g, i got hit by the car. e. g, these mistakes must be fixed.
