Virtue is at the heart of the story. Mirror is used in a number of fairytales- an extension of beauty"s psychological aspect towards her father. Only when the child leaves their family-that sex is something that can be enjoyed. Sees her father in the mirror and she wants to go back- middle point. Beast- has always been the notion of the development of beauty. He is kind, courteous, manipulative, incapable of declaring that he is a prince, needed someone to nd the inner good . As beastly as he looks, its not important. Promises in these times were serious and not to be broken. Dreams: lady comes to her in her sleep- good deed will not go unrewarded, christianity a theme- she says she will leave herself in the hands of god. Mirror is shattered when brought up to heaven. Pure evil at the beginning of the story. Mirror splits when they attempt to bring it up to heaven.
