Visual component powerpoint: not 100% necessary, but do it. How to : perceive the text. Different kinds of reading (before bed, etc. ) looking at text as a problem, complex system: read the text. Read with the presumption of asking discipline appropriate questions. Makes reading more effective/efficient: investigate the text. Willingness to ask questions: present the results! Thesis: inductive method, looking at structure. Mentions of text/author: specific examples of article working on text that you know. Historical context: better understanding of how/why ovid wrote , ovid"s interest in subject, more general information. Treatment of issues/questions: way of modelling the treatment and interpretations of the text. Use a highlighter and pen to identify the issues. This helps you think through the text"s problems. Basic distinctions b/w what is narrated and how it is narrated: fancy word for formal analysis. Telling reader how you"ll proceed: use of we" and i". Fluidity vs. stability: narration jumping all over the place.
