People assume negative things about gothic art/themes. Vaulted ceilings, imperfect lines, gargoyles, very high walls, grand intricate rooms. Wrote during times with no planes and no idea how other areas looked like (no topographical maps) He knows the varying temperatures will lead to different agricultural growth. North = rough due to weather, the gothic art will be darker. South = sunnier/brighter, art will reflect that, lighter. South = in perfect harmony just like their weather. North = imperfect, rough, darker just like their atmosphere. The expression of art reflect the regions from which they come from. Wheat = noble, higher purpose , will not grow automatically, needs tending to.
