New cases of cancer will be up 70% in the next 2 decades. 60% of new cancer cases are happening in africa, asia, central. They have different treatment and prevention methods these areas and as a result, also have higher number of deaths. In canada (2011): 30% of deaths in the country from cancer. Incidence in men vs women: in general, men have higher incidence in cancer cases (specifically lung cancer), however women are now starting to smoke more. Less people die of cancer than they did before because we have better treatments and preventions to catch it early. 63% of canadians were alive after 5 years of being diagnosed. Survival rate went up 7% over the past 20 years.
