Document Summary
Critical thinking chapter 3 is what is needed to be read for this section. He is one of young individuals who is going to grow up and is not okay with this and thus asks him a question: he is starting to see a difference between sophists and careful critical thought. The goal of the course is to encourage you to think for yourself and be confident in doing so. These questions are going to have two-part marks. Practicing your position can be done in class through the practice questions/listening to others. The second mark is based on how you defend your position. Either pick the most vulnerable premise or consider an objection to your position and deal with it that way. In this case we are thinking of clarity in terms of speaking and writing: the principle of charity this is one of the things that separates philosophy from the rest.
