Rules developed by governments in order to provide balance in society and protecion to its ciizens. Are codiicaions of ethics meant to regulate society. Will punish anyone who happens to violate it. Made with ethics as a guiding principle. Codes of ethics: professional guidelines for appropriate behaviour in an organizaion or group, provides trust and credibilliity to the organizaion, gives framework for within which decisions can be made comfortable, examples: hippocraic oath, ten commandments. Breaches of ethical codes can involve legal acion: threat of legal penalty is invoked as assurance to keep some acions from being commited. Legal proscripions and ethical codes: provide guidelines within which to act, are desirable so that people hav bases and jusiicaion for their decisions, give a sense of security, normalcy.
