Science and technology: tell us the world we are living in. who we are, what we are, etc. Jacques ellul (info from last lec: 1950"s; he was saying technology was bad, over the years, people started to listen to him. Stated we spend too much time on our cell phones, laptop etc: necessity vs luxury, wrote a book/video called the betrayal by technology , surgeon says without technology we wouldn"t be able to do heart, kidney transplants, etc. To be able to do this we need fresh, and healthy organs. If we decrease traffic safety, then organ donation would also decrease: medical technology versus traffic technology. Does it subject you and your livelihood: the did what they; job was for life; somehow how tech makes us happier does it make it better. People had a more meaningful life in the past.
