City of about 500 000 people with different groups. all adult males born in athens were citizens. many people came to athens from different cities therefore they"re not citizens (maybe on 1/10 people were considered citizens) Adult males athens born full edged citizens, women and children born in athens, immigrants, and slaves made up the population of athens. To be a citizen was to have an active status as a part of the government. Question about justice what is justice? the central theme of the republic. That question turns into 2 questions and each of those has an * so it turns into 4 questions: 1a. For plato and socrates being politically successful state will also be a morally correct and just society. Plato says a just state has to be stable.
