Most people say that attitudes are lasting general evaluations of people: simply put, a preference. Perceived as emotional but will look at the abc"s of social psychology. Attitudes operate like schemas to organize information and guide behaviour towards the attitude object: the object or focus of the attitude. Attitude is based on values, opinions and beliefs. Most people agree that there are three components : a ective feelings and emotions towards the attitude object. Ex: liking a car and buying it: behavioural form after a person observes how they behave towards the attitude object. Ex: can use the past: cognition allows the person to think about cost and bene t then will decide if they like it. All attitudes contain all of these components, but some are stronger. They vary in strength a ect how accessible it will be then will a ect behaviour: also how extreme, con dent, certain and uniform it is will a ect the strength too.
