Different ways of visualizing the divine happen over time. This is not an evolutionary track, not linear; simply different ways of knowing, different kinds of knowledge. There are ceremonies to ask the spirit of individual animals if they may sacrifice their lives for your family or people to live. The larger a community gets, the more sedentary it will be.
