Document Summary

Lecture 10 notes: actin filaments which are also microfilaments. Monomer is called g actin-globular actin and polymerizes into f actin called flimaentous actin-microfilament: microfilament have polarity. If it is low, add to +end and remove from end: depolimerization occurs on end. Actin is constantly assembling and disassembling: protein factor driven assembly and disassembly, add monomers when high concentration. Concentration drops and on and off rates of monomers on each end changes. Added on + end and removed from minus end. Polymerization of factin requires atp and actin is a atpase. Similar to gtp hydrolysisin mts assembly: most filaments contains adp subunits after polymerization, myosin are motors that move aling the f actin, move towards + end. Use atp drive moment: 2 classes of myosin. Conventional mysosin, called mysosin 2 and unconcentional called mysosin 1 and 5: composed of 2 heav and 2 light chains. 6 polypeptides: heavy chains coil together to form a tail region.
