Environmentalism: political movement seeking protect the environment (especially from pollution) Ecology: the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings. Ecology as a science informs environmentalism as a movement. Environmental science: study of the effects of natural & unnatural processes of the physical components of the environment. The abiotic interactions between organisms and their environments.
