Document Summary

Troy will fall but not by patroclus" hands. Everytime he gets close to the wall, apollo pushes him away. Apollo appears to hector disguised as his uncle and urges him to go after patroclus. Patroclus jumps off his chariot and throws a piece of granite at hector"s chariot and kills the charioteer. And then fight over the body of the charioteer so that the winner can strip the body of the loot. As he gets close to the trojan king, apollo touches him and injures him (his fate to die) Hector sees him wounded and throws his spear and hits patroclus in the stomach and he dies. There is a battle over his body and his armor (he was wearing achilles" armor) When zeus tells achilles that patroclus is dead he is devastated and again flies into a rage because his kleos is again threatened. His armor was taken and the trojans dared to kill his surrogate.
