Brain drain lose the human capital investment. 50s , 60s , 70s: on the other side of the spectrum it was also argued that large population is positive to growth since it leads to scale economies. Prof doesn"t believe in it: where are the industries. Furthermore, the need to satisfy the need of the rising population leads to technical innovations and increase in productivity: developed country pop growth is positive & beneficial. Less developed not the case: doesn"t apply to them. A third view emerged in 1980s, arguing that the population growth was not an obstacle development. No relation b/w gdp & pop growth. Na grow far more than eastern europe. Developing countries fastest pop & poorest negative coorelation. The correlation of population found to be weak. High pop growth unchecked lead to anarchy.
