EESA01H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Dew Point, Water Pollution, Evapotranspiration
Document Summary
The main tool is a mass balance tool , which calculates a change in storage if something gains storage like if soil becomes moist it can be called as storage. Evapotranspiration, runoff, groundwater flow, leaving the system , amount of water in a given area. At which relative humidity becomes 100% relative humidity. Groundwater- beneath our feet there are many layers of rock, clay etc, which suck up water , then water accumulates underground, and is known as groundwater. Airspaces - areas where water could fill into. Saturated zone- where all the water is taken up. Below water you have ground water and above you have soil moisture. Spring area where grounwate moves back to the surface. Recharge vs (discharge zone- where groundwarer might come back to surface) Artesian well- the water is from older unconfined source, does not mean water is cleaner, water flows from high pressure to low pressure.
