Contaminants are any chemicals that may or may have adverse human impact but not necessarily cause health impact. Bioaccumulation accumulate in the body (hair, nails) in the same individual build up concentration in tissues, Bio magnification- individual build up but in the food chain the animal at the top will have the highest concentration. Endocrine disrupters- data mostly from animal studies not much from human exposure. Daughters whose mothers took des have increased incidents of: reproductive organ dysfunction, abnormal pregnancies, reduction in fertility immune system disorders, carcinoma. Thyroid dysfunction- function is to produce hormones t2 t1 are regulated by production and that hormone is produced by pituitary gland and that hormone tell thyroid when in high and low concentration.
