Both direct and the indirect pathological effect of chemical, biological and physical (man-made: housing, land use, transportation, urban development) 5 core concerns: focus on chemical, physical, biological. Biological: bacteria; viruses, parasite, allergen, animal (bees, poisonous snake) Physical: radiation, fire, tornado, , volcanic eruption, earthquake (are not environmental health hazards but they are natural disasters) Social/behavioural: diet, drug, smoking, poverty (not environmental but the chemical in tobacco smoke are) Genetic trait: health risk associated with chromosomal defect that cause down syndrome are not environmental health hazard. Scope of environment: inside (chemical, biological and physical) in one big box. Outside ( social behavioural, natural disaster, genetic traits)
