4 aspects that can come down onto a society. Reality it is not that contagious, 95% of people are immune to it. Leprosy was considered a punishment from god in old testaments. I t was tolerated and cured by jesus christ in the new testaments. Poem reflects ugliness in leprosy, but it shows love beyond it as a guy stays beside a woman with leprosy. In south asian text, leprosy is considered a sin, contagious, but can be cured through medicine and good behavioural practices. In china, it was considered a punishment from heaven as well. They segregate patients, giving medical treatments and spirits building. (you can call it esteem building or www. notesolution. com whatever) China was viewed as a dangerous source of leprosy in 19th century. In canada, d"arcy island contained a lot of chinese leprosy patients. Prejudices arise against the chinese, fear of foreign workers disease, quarantined but did not give much of a treatment.
