Landscape painting is the most common understanding of what landscape is. A term that we want to decicify want to define. Landscapes and easthetics are key and work together. Ambiguous term: is it the same as place or other spatial categories that we have already encountered: no, not really! Why should we care about all of this: landscapes and their symbolism have the power to actively shape social relationships, visual representations work towards how we live in this world. We are also interested in material objects. Landscape painting shows the best vantage point, represents land scope, place and space comes into play. How are material represented, and how does it come together to give certain appearance and symbolism. How is landscape is diff from other spatial category because we are interested in thinking about the iconic and symbolic representations of diff space.
