HLTB15H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Simple Random Sample, Blind Experiment, Adme
Document Summary
We have a research question and we want to test it -> you get a sample. We know that in simple random sampling- the hat scenario. Random sampling- without replacement , meaning you never put it back in. Understanding strata- strata is like categories or characteristics. Stratification sampling- you line them all up according to characteristic. A causes b can only be established with rct. Base line is the point and time before you manipulate the variable. When is not randomized there are going to be differences. Pre experimental- if you do(cid:374)"t ra(cid:374)do(cid:373)ize the differe(cid:374)(cid:272)e goes up if you do(cid:374)"t ra(cid:374)do(cid:373)ize you are addi(cid:374)g (cid:271)iases running the intervention and then getting tested at the end there are some manipulation that you are doing. One person is getting exercise training and one is not it is scientifically rigorous therapeutic benefit- something about the intervention that worked, anything that you are intervening with there is a benefit.
