Document Summary

Health is directly correlated with income, as health stressors are not equally distributed. Social development begins to have long term implications on our health (i. e. early childhood experience). Compare the rich household vs. the poor and see the drastic differences and impact in their health and longevity. Factors outside of a child"s control can affect children ability and motivation to learn. That is why children raised in poverty face difficulties in school that can lead to depression, delinquency and high drop out rates. Andrew: parents are both rich, he receives top tier education, is highly academic, engages in stimulating environments and is fed, nurtured and receives attention from both his parents. Steve: raised in a household less fortunate than andrew. His parents cannot pay for education, receives little academic attention, is unable to eat healthy and therefore his health is compromised.
