PSYA01H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Parietal Lobe, Frontal Lobe, Jean Chrétien
Document Summary
The sensory strip: feeling stimulation from external world. Sensory strip in front of parietal lobe (primary cortex for parietal lobe) If different parts of the body was stimulated, different parts of the sensory strip would be stimulated. Sensory cortex (sen"co: big genitals, big hands. Frontal lobes: output lobe of the brain take in info and the primary motor cortex uses that info to act upon the world (humans have developed it more than any other animal; our great advantage) Whereas the other 3 lobes (occipital, temporal and parietal) seem primarily devoted to input from our world, the frontal lobes is all about output. Damage to the motor area of frontal cortex causes paralysis of the associated motor functions in the opposite side of the body. Cards with various shapes and colours on them and told to sort them in a way. When told to sort by number, they will continue to sort by colour.
