Posiive symptoms: more acive symptoms that relect an excess or distorion of normal thinking or behavior, including hallucinaions (false sensory percepions, typically auditory) and delusions (false beliefs of persecuion, control and grandeur) Negaive symptoms refer to things that have been removed: there are deicits or losses in emoion, speech, energy level, social acivity, and even basic drives such as hunger. Disorganized symptoms include disorganized speech, disorganized behavior, and inappropriate emoion: word salad . Schizophrenia: the presence, most of the ime during a one-month period, of at least two of the following symptoms: hallucinaions, delusions, disorganized speech, disorganized or catatonic behavior, any negaive symptoms (such as loss of emoion)
