Person can have multi selves stemming from a variety of identities (self-pluralism) Self-knowledge: definition: accurate self-perceptions about how one typically thinks, feels, and behaves, and awareness of how those patterns are interpreted by others (p. 606) Self-knowledge: importance is stressed by many religions and philosophical schools of thought, mentioned in self-help industry, researchers examine: What experiences you have and how you deal w/ them. Can"t never be 100% sure it"s accurate. Extent to which other people know us better than we know ourselves. Now new there is a very large and active community of research.
