Document Summary

Self-determination theory (organismic theory) theory surrounding an organism based on the differentiation and adaptation. Satisfaction or frustration of an organism need"s fulfillment. Dave chappelle -> did the right organismic thing. Cognitive evaluation theory (intrinsic motivation vs extrinsic motivation) Intrinsic motivation behaviour arise: necessary for learning, has to be optimally challenging. Organismic integration theory (bringing something to outside of regulation into inside) External regulation > act based on consequence (do it cause you have to) Introjections -> partially internalized extrinsic consequence (do it to be proud, guilt) Indentification -> fully internalized extrinsic contingencies (do it cause endorsed and has value) Integrated regulation -> all internalized extrinsic contingencies which unifies with identity, values, and needs. People as active and growth oriented organism ->actualizing and internalizing. Goal content theory: extrinsic goals vs intrinsic goals. 10 years later: circular structure; intrinsic vs extrinsic and self-transcendent vs physical self.
