Among american males with idenical iq scores, those from high ses groups have 4. 9 more years of schooling than us males from low income background. Quality and characterisic of high status background afects educaional atainment. Looking into home background/culture reveals a lot more informaion of educaional problems than the actual educaional system. Students from high ses are more likely to go to higher educaional than students from lower status backgrounds, regardless of whether the cost of higher educaion is high or low. Middle class families over represent in higher educaion b/c of patent.
