Death of modern architecture was marked on july 15, 1972. Dream of a utopia turns into a nightmare of dystopia. Question of housing interlinked with the metropolis. Housing architectural plans is a re ection of the nature of human relationships. Walls, doors, windows and stairs are used to divide but reunite inhabited space as well. E. g. made the house look like a sewer pipe. Laid out the plan in a very geometric matter. Lays out the social order of the building. New architectural order which refers to the geological origins of the building. Older styles of prison architecture implied a very scary image. Didn"t see other residents but always saw the guard tower in the middle. Making them act in their best behaviour. After industrial revolution, housing became a problem linked with the modern metropolis. Back to back housing, poor living conditions. Augustin-rey (1905) international tuberculosis, hygiene movement, supply of air and sunlight to cure illness.
