Document Summary

If you ignore gravity, objects will keep moving forever at a constant speed because there is no friction. Objects move with constant speed and direction unless acted on by an external force. Inertia: existing in a state of rest objects will always have inertia. Force = mass x acceleration more massive, the force is going to be higher. Once an object it loses contact with your hand, it stops accelerating, changing speed, and feeling a force. If one body exerts a force on another, the other body will exert a force of equal strength but opposite direction. Ex: if you throw a baseball you will move in the direction opposite to the ball"s motion but slower than the ball. Force that the moon exerts is equal to the force the earth exerts keeps the moon in orbit around the earth. If we could shut off gravity, the moon would follow a path straight upwards.
