Document Summary

Bio230 sec2 lec 1 cell and tissue self-organization oct 23. For example, both epithelial cells and nerve cell are polarized cells. Some would go to the late endosome, some may back to the golgi. Secretory pathways: generally, these 2 pathways are similar. Both can involve the soluble proteins, transmembrane proteins, and phospholipids. The only differences are regulated pathways function in specific eukaryotic cells with the signal coming to activate the fusion of the vesicle with the cell membrane. Regulated function in all eukaryotic cells: soluble proteins in er lumen -> Golgi lumen -> outside: membrane proteins stay in er membrane -> golgi membrane -> plasma membrane, membrane lipids (phospholipids) > when the vesicle fuses with the plasma membrane, the plasma. It only takes the fluid and lipids back. As the movement of the proteins, the cargo concentration gets increasing the vesicles would then dock and fuse with the plasma membrane. Note: the cell membrane would not break.
